About the November mid-terms.

In the year and a half since he was elected, Trump has delivered big time on both the domestic and foreign policy fronts. On the former; unemployment is plunging month on month, wages for the low-paid worker are rising for the first time in twenty years, black and Hispanic unemployment is at never before seen record lows, female unemployment is at a record twenty year low, factories are opening up where they were expected to be closing because of globalisation, coal mining communities are getting back to work and for the first time in many years, there’s an optimism in the air from the great ignored backbone of America; the blue-collar worker.

On the foreign relations front, one-sided and abusive trading tariffs are being scrapped, ISIS has been destroyed, China, Russia and even the mad dog running North Korea have all learned to walk carefully around a president in charge of a resurgent America which no longer feels it has to apologise for flexing its military and economic muscles when the occasion demands.

What has been the reaction to all this winning, to use one of Trump’s favourite words?

The average working stiff, sometimes irrespective of their colour and despite all the propaganda, voted him into office because their judgement of him was a lot more accurate than all the pundits, fake news journalists and the whole decadent entertainment industry put together. What’s more, he’s nearly over delivered for them in the last eighteen months with nearly four million more Americans back in fulltime employment. Down on the ground floor of working America, where both the parents of a family had got used to chasing two or three minimal wage and part-time jobs apiece, and had also got used to an ever falling standard of living, he’s now seen as their champion.

The impact of their different view of him has totally undermined the once formidable influence of the news media and Hollywood; with nobody putting any trust in the fake news coming out of the former and resolutely refusing to pay for entertainment that not only comes across as sermonising against their new-found champion, but is perceived as blatant left-wing propaganda. It’s not that they’re particularly political, but that they can see he’s actually doing things for them. The earning streams of both those sectors have consequently been quite simply devastated.

At some point, the chronically liberal people running those concerns will have to staunch what has become a sucking chest wound in their balance sheet, which will mean reconfiguring their products to reflect a fundamental change in popular sentiment. If they don’t, they’ll go extinct as new and better adapted entrants into their business sectors will steal market share.

The political opposition is all over the place, especially as the out of touch geriatrics in charge of it haven’t taken on board the death of their strategy of identity politics to garner votes. The minorities who could usually be bounced into voting for them are moving over to the Trump side of politics, and that’s not necessarily the traditional GOP, who’ve also been as useless as the Dems in delivering anything concrete for them over the years.

The Dems have somehow managed to allow themselves be maneuvered into being perceived as being on the side of savages like the MS-13 gang and in favour of any sort of illegal immigration into America that allows the worst of employers to pay under the table wages at below union rates to illegals, which as every working man knows, throws American workers out of the lower paid jobs. Unlike all the various bleeding heart virtue signallers, it’s the lower paid American workers who’re the ones suffering at the sharp employment end of illegal immigration.

We’re getting the usual fake news snow job about a Dem resurgence in the mid-terms, but my assessment is it’ll never happen. Sure, East and West coast will stick with the righteous liberals until California economically implodes, but the sleeves rolled up inhabitants between those two coastlines will vote heavily for Trump simply because he’s a bet they took which has really paid off handsomely for them.

What their self-declared elitist betters forget, and in their thinly disguised contempt for the 63M Morlocks who voted for Trump, is that there’s a lot more of dem dere Morlocks out there than you limp-wristed Eloi, and they all get a vote. I’m reminded of a reply Stalin is reputed to have made when his Field Marshals were telling him the invading Germans had much better equipment than them. “Yes, but quantity has a quality all of its own” he answered, because he knew the Russians were massively out manufacturing the Germans.

That line of reasoning, if you agree with it, is those aforementioned positives will incline even first time Trump supporters to vote in that direction, but there is another argument, a negative one, to be made for why some who previously voted Dem will not be able to bring themselves to vote for them this time around. There’s a saying about when someone appears to be making harmful moves against your business or personal interests; once is happenstance, twice is coincidence but thrice is enemy action, and that’s been happening a lot to the Dems over the last year and a half.

Sure, some of it is self-inflicted damage, but that corrosive process has all the marks of Trump’s hand feeding one item of scandal after another into the public arena, and timing it so that the opposition are kept perennially on the back foot, trying to handle one PR disaster after another. Every time they think they’ve handled one crisis, another one magically appears out of nowhere coming down the turnpike in their direction.

Having watched Trump for two years slowly take down one witless political opponent after another, and having got a feel for how he operates, I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict there will magically appear a massive scandal involving the Democrat party and the Obama administration, and it’ll come to light with uncanny timing to completely blow out of the water what little chance they had of doing well in the mid-terms.

His trademark for making a move is always his impeccable timing, and if you consider a very revealing tweet he made several years ago – “Move carefully, move slowly, but then strike like the fastest predator on Earth”, I think something like that will be his usual three moves ahead on the chess board in the run up to the mid-terms.

The pattern of the last eighteen months has been a steady drip of political scandals and the exposure of absolute abuses of power that occurred in the eight years of the Obama administration. Spying on political opponents, setting the IRS on them, Benghazi, destroying evidence, a seemingly different law for the high and mighty, the corruption at the highest levels of the FBI, DoJ, the intelligence community and even the Mueller witch hunt which has in the end only served to expose the pervasive stink of the Washington swamp’s endemic corruption.

As one embittered life-long Dem supporter expressed it in a live studio group discussion shortly after they’d lost in 2016 – “So what you’re saying is that if they hadn’t discovered that we’d cheated and lied our way through the whole presidential campaign, we’d have won?”. He was in that vital age demographic that despite all the yap by younger voters who can’t be arsed, does actually turn up to vote, the 40-50s age bracket, but it was plain to see from his sheer anger that he wouldn’t be turning out to a polling station for the Dems any day soon, unless there’s a root and branch clean out of the cynical corrupters in charge of his natural party of choice, and that simply hasn’t happened.

When you add in the la la land platform the Dems are proposing to run on for the mid-terms; raising taxes, letting MS-13 stay and proposing totally uncontrolled immigration, the disaster couldn’t be more complete unless the Donald had designed it for them himself.

Anyway, barring any unforeseen accidents, my money is on Trump to win in November, and bigly, to use that new word.
