A climate of hate and a license to kill.

Of late we’ve seen a rash of examples showing just how ugly the face of the cult of environmentalism can be. There’ve been calls for the beheading of skeptics and even a wish that their children should kill them. If you’re fresh to what’s laughably called the climate debate, you’ll probably be appalled by such extremist exhortations to do the type of sick things which would quite comfortably fit into the sort of violence porn uploaded to YouTube for wannabe Jihadis and the like to get their rocks off on. However, if you’ve been following the issue for a few years, you’ll know such repulsive and vile sentiments are far from anything new though they are of late stronger.

In previous years, there’s been suggestions that “deniers” should have the word tattooed on their forehead, the targeting and naming of their children by certain verminous types not only in the real world but in the virtual twittering world, appearances in the dead of night of masked people on their front lawns with burning torches in the traditional KKK fashion, there should be climate criminal trials à la Nuremburg and that such deniers should be gathered together in central facilities for re-education, the latter suggestion being made by a second-generation blood relative of JFK, who’d probably be appalled at any genetic connection to such a closet fascist hiding behind the skirts of the Democratic Party and totally disgracing his Irish immigrant lineage.

I suppose he’s someone who’s lived nothing but a lard-arsed privileged life, safely insulated inside a rich clan skating along on a dead man’s reputation without ever putting his ass anywhere near the everyday experience of bagging up groceries in the local supermarket just to make a minimum wage, never mind the risk of getting it shot off in the service of his country. I despise such pointless people who’re totally without any sense of decency and whose whole career is based on feeding off the memory of a better man. I really do. There’s no decency, no sense of decorum about them and without ruthlessly exploiting a chance familial connection, they’d be nobodies.

There are a number of things to be noticed about such visceral hate speech. I suppose for starters it’s a one way street, if only because only one side owns all the mass propaganda outlets. Once you get outside the free blogosphere and into the mainstream media, climate skeptics who speak their mind are a very small demographic and hunted down enthusiastically by an overwhelmingly yee-haw lynch mob of hang the nigga high liberals of the media in pursuit of the only minority left about whom anything can be said.

You can sense a sort of glee, a certain cathartic joy at actually having the freedom to hurl the sort of vile bigoted slurs that haven’t been publishable in a newspaper for the last half century. The good news is you can’t be punished for it. Indeed, your stock will only rise in the righteous circles you crave so badly to be a part of. Not only can you say horrible things about them, you can even get away with committing criminal offences against them, just ask Peter “identity thief” Gleick. You won’t even get charged.

It’s the new touchy-feely McCarthyite era of the twenty-first century. Just substitute Denier for Commie and it’s all very familiar. Are you now or have you ever been a denier? Let the hearings begin, but not as a committee of Congress but in the full glare of the mainstream media. The results of such a trial by media are exactly the same as those achieved by the Senator from Wisconsin. Blacklisting, deprivation of livelihood, your reputation besmirched and all of it with absolutely no mechanism to defend yourself, never mind any right of reply.

What type of person feels free to indulge in such extremist dialogue?

The most visible is what’s called the troll or cyber bully plying their anonymous trade. They’re mostly personality defectives of one type or another but more often than people might think, they’re actually paid commenters earning a living by trying to close down debate in the blogosphere, usually by inciting a screaming match. To a large extent, that worked in former years, but since the plunge in visitors to alarmist sites they’ve been obliged to move their activities to the skeptic sites, but by now most of those sites recognise them for what they are and keep them on a short leash. If they let them in, it’s just for a bit of fun. Personally, I just don’t let them through the door, though occasionally I like to do a bit of troll baiting when things are slow.

What’s important to note about the trolls, is that they are like a deniable terrorist wing of a supposedly respectable political movement. For instance, the Guardian left comments calling for the beheading of Matt Ridley up on their site for four days, while at the same time deleting other comments protesting about it. More than a few of the more virulent ones are in reality supposedly sane commenters operating under a nom de guerre.

The next demographic would be establishment figures, politicians on the make, climate scientists, troughers sucking up the monetary swill and mainstream journalists. I exclude the alarmist bloggers from this set, since they’re only read by a few devoted acolytes and definitely nobody of any consequence, simply because the content is poor, juvenile, often libellous and suitable only for consumption by the alarmingly thick. You really do have to wipe your feet and wash your hands after visiting one. A little jet set experience on a bidet wouldn’t hurt either …

To a large extent, this grouping indulges in a more subtle form of stereotyping but invariably with the “denier” word unconsciously used as a given. It’s a useful discriminant to spot them. Once they use that word, you know what you’re dealing with; a true believer. They’re the next step up, a bit more respectable than the trolls or bloggers though at times the margin can be pretty slim.

The common denominator they all share is that they’re all activists who’re quite prepared to trash the perceived integrity of whatever profession they’re supposed to be practising in order to advance the “cause”, as it’s referred to in the climategate emails. They’re quite happy to distort, deceive, spin, destroy, pervert and simply lie their heads off because they just know the end justifies any means, and that’s something so many skeptics still find hard to get their head around.

There are one or two of them who like to represent themselves as honest brokers in the middle ground, but when push comes to shove or they’re in the right company and getting their ego stroked, the old denier word soon comes creeping out of hiding.

The last and most dishonourable group would be the people who’ve taken some time to look into the issue, who know the weakness of the alarmist case, know it’s so often a perversion of science, recognise only too well the professional calibre of the people indulging in the hate speech and yet stand still on the side-lines saying nothing. As Burke said, all that’s necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to stand idly by and do nothing. They may not be using the hate speech, but their silence condones it and therefore allows it to grow.

They are the only solution to the problem but as long as they maintain their silence and do not speak out against it, they are a part of the problem.

The last question to ask is why? Why all the hate, why all the venom? For most of them, it’s the anger phase in the death of their belief system and the skeptics are the ones they blame totally for their particular Götterdämmerung, the twilight of the gods or in this case Gaia. The skeptics reflect the sentiment of the common man, whose concerns have been placing worry about the environment at the bottom of every poll for several years. It’s all our fault, we low creatures destroyed their dreams. Any belief in Gaia is dying because of us.

The real point about unrestricted hate speech is that it’s an enabler. When a non-stop, unrestrained stream of perverted, violent and hateful invective is allowed to be rained down on any group, eventually the words will lead to doing the deeds. We in the West allowed extremist imams to preach violence for years and we’re now seeing the results of allowing such “free speech”, in the form of home-grown terrorists attacking the societies they were raised in.

What I do know because I’ve seen it before is that there will be consequences from such an accepted environment of casual hate speech. Someone, somewhere, sometime will decide one of the deniers will have to be killed to protect the environment. It’s a prediction but one I feel will eventually happen as the hate speech spirals ever more violently out of control and gives someone a feeling of authorisation to do something murderous to save the planet.

On that day, one or more people will have died and some people’s invective will have to be examined in the light of that tragic event, because there will be no wiggle out using that venerable excuse of a lone demented maniac who had nothing to do with you. You’ll have made him, you’ll have made him feel righteous, you conditioned him, you wound him up, he murdered people – it’ll be on your conscience.

Is there any real chance the people actually responsible for inciting the murder will ever face a court of law for their part in it? Of course not, they’re in that long tradition of slinking away unpunished and on with their prestigious lives to horizons anew and all is forgotten. Their skirts will be clean and no blood will rub off on their hems.

The more the hate escalates, the more certain it becomes that the sad day is slouching towards us.

The hate speech comes out, unsurprisingly, because “progressives” truly hate conservatives. It’s not by any means just climate — they hate, almost unanimously, Fox News, George W Bush, Israel, etc etc. Anything that gets in their way is met by hate, hate, hate. Real hate.

They hate because they envy, with all the toxicity of their unfulfilled egos. They hate Western society because it is so robust and indifferent to their constant clamoring for special attention.

    Malignant narcissism, it’s sometimes called.

I’ve got far better things to do than try to summon up hate for these people, though knowing their psychology does make it amusing to push their buttons from time to time.

As a rule these are the same people who rail against labelling and profiling of a wide variety of “Others”. Usually limited to a PC subset of course. We are all prone to hypocrisy but some do it with greater élan don’t they?

Old Rooster, limited by his Galliforme brain, thought denier was a measure of fabric or possibly referred to the French silver penny but now he knows better. I suppose we might have been labelled as “unbelievers” but that might have given the game away that climate alarmism itself is essentially a religion or even more properly a faith as Graves would classify it.

It’s an ill wind so I can report that I have uncovered a series of convenient shorthand terms for when different numbers of deniers are gathered together. Three will constitute a Liard whilst the even dozen makes up a Sou. Two hundred and forty altogether would be a Livre. As the original denarius was valued at ten Asses I now understand the insult intended. Only confirms to me that much of the views relating to deniers expressed by alarmists is just a manifestation of what I understand psychologists call projection.

    Pointman,

It’s like the Broken Windows Theory isn’t it? Tolerate a little defamation here, a little persecution there and before you know it, it’s suddenly ‘acceptable’ to hop on the bandwagon.

It isn’t only sceptic scientists and individuals who are targeted – entire Industries that have become anathema to the ‘high priests’ of the Climate Cult have been demonized and therefore it has become ‘legitimate’ to destroy them.

In recent decades we have had the 200 year old Forestry Industry all but closed down to form ‘climate sinks’, big energy users such as Australia’s Motor Vehicle Manufacturing closed or scheduled to close, the same with our steel and aluminium smelting and manufacturing industries now offshore, and our oil refineries closing one by one. We have become one massive quarry for the raw materials for all those industries and coal, iron ore, bauxite and oil is shipped to India or China while we ship the finished products all the way back here again.

The thousands of shipping miles and costs involved to consumers seem to be irrelevant. These Industries have been declared ‘verboten’ by ‘diktat’ of the Green Cultists and our Governments comply because the closures allow our Kyoto Emissions Targets to be met. And it’s a real bonus to be able to dump any Industry pollutants on illiterate, impoverished citizens whose nations agree to no such Emissions Protocols.

Though offensive, petty name-calling of individuals is one thing but we’re talking about depriving people of their livelihoods, of rendering Realist scientists’ academic qualifications to be almost worthless as their work is impossible to publish; we’re talking of negating competitive advantage in business, or Green doctrines progressively closing down denigrated Industries and thousands of hard-working men and women thrown on the unemployment scrapheap.

Sadly, it’s all too possible to destroy a life without physically attacking a person.

The ‘Beast’ has already slouched into our midst; the damage done is only a matter of degree.

Interesting essay and comments. I only really read this and WUWT, and some MSM, but my sense is that the peak has been passed, the climate march was the last gasp and everyone can now see it was all about money, communism, political power, hate of capitalism and the Koch brothers. Greenies can not stand it that capitalism allows rich people and they think communism prevents it, they are quite naïve. It is good news to me that Joe average is not concerned about “climate change” any more, it is last on the polls. Soon the greenies will realize they are wasting their breath. Now they aim against fracking but soon that will fade too. Luv ya, Pointy, and thanks!

Greetings Athelstan – for those unfamiliar with the name ‘Turnbull’, I offer the following ……

Some time ago I listened to the podcast of a radio interview with Christopher Monckton and he clearly stated that the puppeteers of the UN were currently investing big money and pulling lots of Media strings in the promotion of Malcolm Turnbull as an alternative Australian Prime Minister.

Is Monckton clairvoyant? … or is he just right-on-the-money when it comes to the UN’s manipulation of Western politics to have their Marxist One World Govt at any cost?

In 2009 Abbott declared CAGW to be “absolute crap” and though he has since back-pedalled in an effort to mollify the Gaia fanatics, he repealed the Marxists’ Carbon Tax legislation, though the Opposition have vowed to re-introduce it should they be returned to Government.

“Slouching towards” Australia is the prospect that a Goldman Sachs money-man, a committed ‘Renewables’ investor and thoroughly cynical purported Green advocate, sits poised like a carrion crow on a barbed wire fence just waiting for Abbott to be rolled from the top job. As a Republican he is the darling of the Socialist/Marxists of the ABC national broadcaster and Left MSM in general, who have been promoting him relentlessly for over 5 years since he lost the leadership to Abbott by a single Party Room vote in 2009.

Turnbull’s Goldman Sachs background is highly questionable. He was up to his ears in the HIH collapse, the biggest failure in Australian Corporate history and cost our taxpayers $800 million to bail out those left stranded. His professional GS advice had cost HIH $1.5 million, but when they took that advice the company collapsed and it was his clients who went to prison, not Turnbull. He walked away from the Royal Commission of Inquiry completely unscathed and got elected to the Federal Govt instead.

As Environment Minister in the Howard Liberal Govt, and against his Dept’s advice, he awarded a $10million taxpayer Grant to his good buddy and neighbour for a nonsensical ‘Rain Corporation’ project … http://kangaroocourtofaustralia.com/2015/02/08/malcolm-turnbulls-dirty-laundry-of-fraud-theft-will-destroy-the-liberal-party-if-elected-leader/

If he succeeds in that vote for the leadership, if he has convinced enough squeamish ‘useful idiot’ backbenchers that he has broader appeal to the ‘great unwashed masses’, then our clocks will be turned back eight years to the Socialist/Marxist/Greens era, an ETS will be introduced and we Climate Realists will have to begin all over again.

UPDATE: Tony Abbott remains Prime Minister of Australia.

In the Parliamentary Party Room, a majority voted to reject a “Spill Motion” which would have declared the Prime Minister and his Deputy’s positions ‘vacant’.

By retaining Abbott without any actual vote on the leadership, nobody was required to declare their hand in contesting the top job, thus Turnbull will continue his machinations to ‘white ant’ the PM from behind closed doors.

The Marxists of the ABC are inconsolable … I’m surprised they aren’t openly sobbing with disappointment as already, within minutes, they are continuing to bleat that it’s “only a matter of time” for Abbott.

If they ever succeed in helping him topple Abbott they’ll run a fresh bull (Shorten) in to gore him to death too. Hoping that Abbott will be inspired by Operation Hummingbird to rid himself and the party of these troublesome pricks. I grow more attracted to the idea that Abbott call a double dissolution (full elections of the House and Senate) to put it to the people to choose between sanity and anarchy. I suspect Abbott would drop a lot of his sillier policies and harden up on what needs to be done if he were not pandering to various self interest groups across the political spectrum. I feel the time is now to choose between having the power to right the wrongs or be a eunuch whose achievements are evanescent without any enduring legacy.

    Crikey,

I knew Turnbull was to say the least a [fucking] bad apple but that he was such an operator, it is quite sobering.

    From your link:

Mr Turnbull has refused to answer numerous questions in relation to the $10 million grant he gave in 2007 to his friend Matt Handbury when he was the Environment Minister.[…]

    I’ll bet.

    Then this:

“During the 2007 election campaign, Turnbull announced that the then Government would contribute $10 million to the investigation of an untried Russian technology that aims to trigger rainfall from the atmosphere, even when there are no clouds. Literature suggests that the technology is based on bogus science. The Australian Rain Corporation presented research documents written in Russian, explained by a Russian researcher who spoke to local experts in Russian.”

“even when there are no clouds” say – in the middle of the Gibson or Great Victoria desert………[!]

“Russian researcher” who spoke only Russian……….. yes true enough all air [in atmosphere] contains moisture but seeding clouds is the way……………………….

What a farce, it was a handout – political graft.

One would have thought with corruption inquiries around the country and the anti-corruption mindset of many voters anyone with even a hint of corruption about them would be ruled out as a candidate for any political party let alone the leader’s job.

    Too bloody right.

As to the wider question and meddling – for that is what it is. And it all makes for a very serious circumstance: of political gerrymandering by external forces outside of Australia.

“Changing the course of a nation’s history and destroying its economy is ‘The Beast’ in action.”

There are some very dark forces at work here, Obama and UNEP obviously have decided that the national electorates of particularly two countries [Canada and Australia] have made a choice for pragmatic conservative governance – they decided incorrectly and that actually these said nations would have to be what could only euphemistically be ‘arm twisted’ into changing political direction.
So the [progressive] propaganda, machine was put in full swing in Aus’. ABC the green NGOs, labour all poisoning the well. Thus, Abbot was suddenly a man who was out of control – so the counter briefing went….. Worse, a serial, con merchant, peculator, a man of such a dire reputation but oh so brazen with it, Turnbull was levered into the frame…. Turnbull, because he is bought and paid for shill and adherent of the eco church of green lunacy would be the better choice for Australia And because [!!] their thinking goes – an Aussie PM arriving in Paris – who is anti agenda 21 and thus the green corporate-UNEP world takeover would be shaken to its very foundations [built on sand and which ain’t up to much anyway].

Can you see what is going on here? National democracy, ie the Australian electorate: is being circumvented because they ‘failed’ in choosing Tony Abbot, made the “wrong choice” – incredible!

UNEP = Totalitarianism and authoritarian government for the world elite of corporate and political tyrants – if you want to know what it is like to be cast as the one who was cast out – ask Vladimir Putin….. Putin is certainly no saint, but I admire him for telling the world to ‘sit on it’ – Ukraine is in Moscow’s sphere not Brussels-Obama’s – all you need to do is to read a little history.

Finally, yes I see Tony is safe for the time being but I gather this is only the start – I pray that Mr. Abbot can see the year out and hopefully his full term.

Btw, thanks for taking the time Blackswan, someone to explain the complexes of the Aussie political system is good, for increasing my very limited knowledge, Sir.

If that isn’t the most blatant in-yer-face “up yours” from foreign interests to Australian taxpayers, I don’t know what is. And STILL Turnbull authorised a $10million grant to them, luckily rescinded by the incoming Labor Govt after they’d received less than 40% of it.

It’s probably only surpassed by Labor PM Julia Gillard, days before being dumped from Office by her own Party, who granted her old University $100 million – they were so grateful they made her an honorary Professor.

No, my mistake – as PM, Gillard granted the World Bank Education Fund $300 million, more than most of the Western nations put together. They were so chuffed they made her Chair of the whole shebang putting control of $US 38 BILLION in her clammy little well-manicured hands.

You’re right Rooster, but then Gillard has always been an abject disappointment to anybody that invested time or money in her. Part of her deal with Adelaide University was that she would establish her taxpayer funded post-Prime Ministerial Offices on campus and lecture students on political science, none of which has come to pass. I suppose they should just be grateful for small mercies, spend their windfall $100 million and keep schtum.

Don’t forget Melbourne Uni also bestowed an unearned Doctorate upon her for her purported “services to the Nation” and now she’s also been appointed to the Board of ‘Beyond Blue’, a charity that’s been a recipient of $14 million taxpayer dollars in the past year.

In the Senate, with Labor and the Greens blocking much of Abbott’s legislation, Palmer’s crew got to hold the balance of power depending on who they sided with. All of them only elected on a few thousand votes apiece, these are the people who get to tell Australians what laws they will and won’t pass.

And ironically, it’s Abbott’s failures in the Senate that the Media in general (and the ABC in particular) use to beat Abbott around the head.

Sooo W4, you might have something there – Gore would be making it his business to cultivate any arrogant, unprincipled fraudster who holds the balance of power over a conservative government.

At the least by their fruits (and nuts) we shall know them.

Incidentally W4 – remember the days in 2009 of the Copenhagen gabfest and we heard a lot about “Blood & Gore”? Gore was yet to get his Hollywood gong and Blood was his Goldman Sachs buddy.

Well, at that time Malcolm Turnbull (ex Goldman Sachs Aust. Managing Director) was leader of the Liberal Party in Opposition and while our Labor PM KRudd danced with endangered polar bears in Copenhagen, Turnbull was in London meeting up with his old GS colleague David Blood.

The tentacles run wide and deep.

Think how much less intrigue afflicted the world was before the days of international air travel and telephone and data services. Jetting off to the other side of the world to meddle and plot and back within the week bringing disease and pestilence with them.

Rooster, remember the days when wind energy was actually useful? It powered great sailing ships around the world – without them this country would still be the preserve of hunter/gatherer nomads.

And wind milled our grain and pumped water to feed livestock and ‘green’ the wide brown land.

Today useless wind turbines blight the landscape and line the pockets of Climate Capetbaggers while they contribute little except the energy we expend to pay for them.

        A brave new world indeed.

Bold prediction? Not really. Violence is a recurring theme in the human story. The only defense is for good people to speak up. Stand up. Stand for what is right.
Pointman’s article and the comments are well worth reading.

While the UN is dictating the use of useless renewable energy from wind and solar for a carbon free world BP has come out with a new analysis forecasting that fossil fuel will be still king well into the future. http://www.bp.com/content/dam/bp/pdf/Energy-economics/energy-outlook-2015/Energy_Outlook_2035_booklet.pdf One wonders if the UN knows this to be true and is using the we can save earth from those evil humans theme as a cover to tax the hide out of developed Nations so they can take the money and run. Maybe like what happened in Haiti where the $13.5 Billion in Earthquake Recovery funds never got to the people who are still living in tents. The UN Was/Is in charge of that too. Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.

“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.

The cat’s out of the bag. There is no approaching ecological calamity. The aim is to destroy capitalism.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch ….

Aussie blogger Larry Pickering has alerted us to this …..

“… the big question for Australia is, WTF is an Australian Government aid agency (and now part of DFAT) doing supporting the Clinton Foundation, to the tune of up to $25 million, which in turn supports the UN’s global warming push?”

    http://pickeringpost.com/glance/-broke-ausaid-gifts-25-mil-to-clinton-cause/4562

Hello, ‘ello, ‘ello – what’s this about then?

“In cities and forests across the globe, our programs are proving that we can confront the debilitating effects of climate change in a way that makes sense for governments, businesses, and economies.”

    https://www.clintonfoundation.org/our-work/by-topic/climate-change

So the Abbott Government (via the bureaucrats of the Dept of Foreign Affairs and Trade) is matching Saudi petro-dollars with OUR TAXPAYERS’ foreign aid dollars and shovelling the cash into the pockets (er, keeping…) of the Clinton family.

“The Beast” has done with “slouching” – he’s swaggered right into the joint, put his feet up and made himself real comfy while he feeds on the fat of the land.

Now … where did I leave my pitchfork ….. ??
